How to Open Your Account

A water service account with GWD may be opened either by telephoning the District's Customer Service Desk at (805) 964-6761, or by coming in to the District Office, 4699 Hollister Ave., located at the corner of Hollister and Puente, during business hours (8 a.m.- 5 p.m., Mon.- Fri.)

When you call in or come in to open an account, that account will be put in your name -- you may not establish an account for another person. There is a $25.00 fee for establishing a new account.

• your name/spouse's name
• service address of new account
• whether you own or are renting at your new residence
• your/spouse's employer
• your home and work telephone numbers
• billing address
• social security number

If a customer is the property owner, no deposit is required unless customer has had previous service with the District with a record of late payments.

Customers renting property must pay a deposit. The deposit is due before the water service can be put into the customer's name. Failure to make the deposit will result in a termination of water service for the customer.

If the water supply has been disconnected at your new address and a District employee must come out to turn it back on, your presence may be required.

There is no charge for closing an account. It can be done by calling 964-6761, or by requesting in person at the District Office.

Any customer who vacates premises being served water by the District and fails to request that service be taken out of their name shall be held responsible for all water used on those premises up until the time the District has actual notice.

How to Apply for a New Water Service Connection
