Financial Study

What does it take to continue providing safe, secure, and high-quality water to the approximately 85,000 customers of Goleta Water District at a reasonable cost? In part, it takes a state-of-the art system that includes over 270 miles of pipelines, a water treatment plan, storage reservoirs, pumping facilities, active wells, a recycled water system, and connections with Lake Cachuma and the State Water Project.

Developing a Plan, Controlling Costs.

Periodically, we undertake in-depth and systematic reviews of the costs of this system to ensure the rates paid by customers adequately fund operations, needed system upgrades, and reserves for emergencies. The District recently completed this process, after a year-long public dialogue, resulting in changes to water rates and meter charges.
