The Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival 2023 took place at Alameda Park on Saturday, April 29th and Sunday, April 30th.
The District was pleased to host an interactive booth at the Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival 2023 with informational brochures, materials and water conservation devices throughout the duration of the two-day festival.

A Full Lake Cachuma
Improved Water Supply Outlook for the Goleta Valley
A series of intense winter storms raised lake levels from 31% to full for the first time since 2011. The improved regional water supply outlook means the District no longer needs to consider a water shortage emergency.

Water Saving Devices Distribution Program
The Goleta Water District Water Saving Devices Distribution Program distributes FREE water saving devices to customers in order to increase District-wide water savings. Devices include garden hose nozzles with multi-stream and automatic shut-off capability, 0.5 gallon per minute bathroom faucet aerators, 1.5 gallon per minute showerheads, showerhead shut-off valves, toilet leak food coloring test tablets, and toilet flappers. The District's Net-Zero Initiative Video - How the Goleta Water District balances increasing energy use with enhanced water reliability continues to present challenges amid rising energy costs. This water-energy nexus is a key driver of the District’s new Net Zero Initiative. The District is exploring the feasibility of a system-wide renewable energy project to install solar energy systems throughout its facilities.
