Water Supply Update
If It Rain and If It Doesn’t
With the Statewide drought declaration, there is renewed interest in the impact the 2021-22 winter storms had on District water supply. Despite a third consecutive dry winter, locally water supply conditions are such that even without additional rain the District has enough supply to avoid the need for mandatory demand reduction requirements in 2022.

The District’s Net-Zero Initiative Video – How the Goleta Water District balances increasing energy use with enhanced water reliability continues to present challenges amid rising energy costs. This water-energy nexus is a key driver of the District’s new Net Zero Initiative. The District is exploring the feasibility of a system-wide renewable energy project to install solar energy systems throughout its facilities.
